Yes, I am told that on quite a regular basis. My reply is always "I assure you I am old enough and was actually older than most of my class." Visits that start with this comment tend to not go well. It's true though, I took a year off between undergrad and vet school, and the vast majority of people go straight through. Some people can even get into vet school with only three years of undergrad, as long as they took all the pre-reqs. Plus CT has a different cutoff age for starting school than schools down south, so I actually had two years on several of my classmates.
